There are two types of fiction, commercial fiction and literary fiction.
Commercial fiction are stories with an element of events happening in recent times. They are broken into different genres and sub- genres and are generally written to appeal to a wider audience to make money out of it.
Literary fiction on the other hand are stories involving challenging situations of intellectual story lines with the the ideas and concepts, of a unique nature. They also have different genres and sub-genres like the commercial fiction.
